After taking into account of the possible risks that could occur during my filming I have produced a risk assessment table stating how these problems could be solved.

Website Draft Design

This is my draft website design that I have created. I have used the same font as the font included on the logo, their will is a media player that plays his songs when you are on the homepage along with pictures of himself and his logo in the bottom right corner. The top stories will be shown on the homepage also so that the fans of Joe Brooks can see big information about him, this could be a Tour, New Sing etc. I have used the colour orange as it is a very relaxing colour which works well with his style of music. The links are on the left hand side of the page so that you can easily navigate around it.

Shooting Calender

NOVEMBER SHOOTING CALENDER

I have put together a shooting calender to shoot around my college and work hours. During my free periods on a wednesday and I can shoot then for definate. However on weekends their is a possibility that I can depending on whether I am working. The dates have started from November 2nd as that is when we return from our half term holidays.

I will spend all the time after my shooting has been completed to work on the editing as this will take the most time. I am confident that I will get at least 6 days shooting which should be enough, if not then I will have to take some more free time to complete it.

My video to the song ‘Superman’ by Joe Brooks is about a man who is
deeply in love with a girl but doesn’t dare tell her, as he doesn’t know if
she feels the same. He keeps trying to get the courage to talk to her but
whenever she comes near him he shy’ out, not letting the girl that he his in
love with suspect anything. At the end of the video we find out what happens,
do they give it another go or stay separated for the best? During the song
there is a lyric ‘If I could be your superman, I’d fly you to the stars and back
again’, when he is saying superman this could relate to him wanting to be her hero.

In the making of the video I will use a variety of special effects, ‘You feel my
powers running through your veins’ I intend to make it look as if the camera is
rushing through a range of colours so that it looks like we are in her veins.
The first chorus ‘If I could be your superman, I’d fly you to the stars and back
again’ the stars on green screen will be coming down to make it look like the
actor if flying up into the sky. The second time this is said he will be sat up on
the moon touching the stars and each time one is touched, it will light up.

I hope that this video will appeal to the audience as I am going to take into
account the results from my questionnaire so that the viewers get what they
want. The song is aimed at people that have the same type of relationship
troubles and are shy to announce their feelings even when they know deep
down that they are in love. They hide this emotion as they don’t know what t
o do and how it will turn out, they are afraid of what people will think instead
of caring about their own feelings, which is the most important thing. Its spread
to a wide audience, both males and females and from the ages 14-26. There
will be a website made that will link into the song and CD cover.

Before starting my storyboard, I made ideas for some lines which i could include in my video. The lines with ** and then in brackets are the ideas that i hav included. I made this to help me with my storyboard so that i have something in mind.

After printing out my questionnaire I asked my media class to fill it in and I took notes of the answers and recored the results so that I know what the audience want and expect to see in a video. Also to see if they are aware with the artist and genre. RESULTS TO FOLLOW

Logo

Here is my logo for the song that i am doing, it includes the artists name 'Joe Brooks' and the song title 'Superman'. When designing this I took into mind the lyrics of the song, 'id fly you to the stars and back again' is a lyric from the song which is repeated throughout, so i therfore included a star in the logo as the outline. I also downloaded a font for the word 'Superman' so that it looked abit more professional and detailed.

Jason Mraz Research

I have chosen to do some research on an artist similar to Joe Brooks, his name is Jason Mraz and is a very successful soul singer with top singles in the charts.

Research into Jason Mraz

After looking at Jason Mraz CD cover and Website you can see that he has carried the theme on both with the man sketched on with a trilby hat on. Also the links down the left hand side of his website to navigate to the other pages are in the same font as the writing on his album. At the bottom left of the page you can see it says voice, music, silence, you can select any of these which you prefer. If you select his voice, he talks to you about the site and the mouth on the sketched person moves to the words. His type of music is rock and soul and aimed at teenagers and over as it’s not really quick and dance music.

As you can see the theme carries on within the site, from page to page. On each page he has different sketched drawings to symbolize what you are looking at, this site is very creative and has used many technologies to make it as it is.

Career

Mraz the singer-songwriter combines a smooth voice, meaningful lyrics, and a little hip-hop twist in his singing style. Although he got his start singing in coffeehouses, he has since performed at classical venues and on the PBS network, as well as in popular concert halls.
